"Lutheran Schools Tops in the Nation on the "Nation's Report Card"
The report is in and the news is GREAT for our Lutheran Schools. In five of the eight categories (in the National Assessment of Educational Progress) Lutheran schools finished in first place among nine other categorizations. In the other three Lutheran schools finished second. The groups included the following: public schools, other religious, nonsectarian, Catholic, Bureau of Indian Affairs, Dept. of Defense, State Department of Education, Lutheran, and Conservative Christian.

The National Assessment of Educational Progress (NAEP) also known as "The Nation's Report Card" is the only nationally representative and continuing assessment of what America's students know and can do in various subject areas.

Lutheran Schools finished first in science in 4th, 8th, and 12th grades (those were the grades where data was gathered). In reading Lutheran schools finished 1st in 4th and 8th grade (data was not gathered for the 12th grade). In math Lutheran schools finished 2nd in 4th and 2nd in 8th and 12th.

Mobile wireless laptop cart (began use in the 2004-05 school year)
We have purchased a mobile wireless laptop cart system for our school from our Internet Access Fund. The cart has 24 Pentium M laptops from Hewlett Packard. The cart also has a computer projector on it. This will provide a mobile computer lab with Internet access for use throughout the school! (We also activated cable TV access to each classroom this school year.)

Summer 2005- Just installed for use in the 8th grade Earth Science course- a professional weather station purchased with donated funds. The wireless weather station sensors gather barometric pressure, wind speed, wind direction, temperture, humidity, and rainfall data. The inside display shows present weather data, graphically displays changes over various time spans, calculates dewpoints, windchill index, etc. What a great additon to the Meteorology section of our Earth Science course!
Several items added (Summer 2005) to our playground-

SEVERAL ITEMS ADDED TO OUR PLAYGROUND DURING THE SUMMER of 2003 -An ATV Spring Rider, a Flippo Offspring Rider, and a o Climber (see below). We have also installed a plastic timber retaining wall along the fence which enabled us to bring in additional woodchips.
