ANNOUNCEMENTS

Our congratulations to Amanda (Ferre) and Jason Shroyer, who were wed at our church yesterday. We pray that their union will be a long and joyfilled one.

If you haven t yet received your ALSM membership drive information, you can pick up the pamphlet on the back windowsill or in the track rack at the top of the stairway.

During August, we are looking for Sunday School teachers. If you can help us, please contact Esther Mowry for elementary youth, Dave Marker for Senior High youth, Pastor Mel for Junior High and/or the Adult classes. Your help will make our Sunday School much stronger. Please, prayerfully consider helping in our Sunday School.

If you have information for the Visitor, the deadline will be on Monday, August 19. Your cooperation ensures that we can get the Visitor out in a timely manner.

Those youth who will be entering the 7th & 8th grade in the Fall, and their parents are invited to join us on Sunday, August 25th following the 10AM worship for an orientation to our catechetical instruction ministry. This is an important time to learn how our ministry works and to get your questions answered; so I hope you will join us on Sunday August 25 following the 10 AM worship.

A special prayer service to begin our school year will be held at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church on Sunday, 8/25 at 7PM. The entire community is welcome to join us as we pray for the students, teachers, administrators, and parents. So spread the word and invite others to join us, so that we as a community can undergird our school and the year of learning that is ahead with prayer.

With the Fall, our worship schedule changes. Beginning September 1st through May 25, our worship schedule will be as follows: 8AM Worship, 9:30 AM Sunday School and 10:40 AM Worship. Please make note of these changes, so as not to cause anyone confusion.

Rally Day is fast approaching (Sept. 1). In reviewing our history, we discovered how we used to fill up two Sunday Schools. Yet now, we do not fill up one! Lets make this our challenge for the upcoming year - to invite some friends to become a regular part of our Sunday School. We need to reach as many people as possible with the Gospel of Christ! Sunday School can be a great way to begin our reaching out.

Deacons will meet Tuesday, 9/3 at 7PM in the Parlor. Join us then!

Mutual Ministry Team will have it s quarterly meeting on Wednesday, September 4 at 7PM. Hope you can join us then.

Those involved in our Revitalization Ministry Team are reminded that we will meet to discuss Handles 7, 8 & 9 on Thursday, Sept. 5 at 7PM in Luther Haus. Please review the material you were given or mailed, as this will help us complete our work in a timely manner.

Property Use committee will meet Thurs., 9/5 at 7:30 PM in the Parlor.

Tickets will be available from Katie Bell (at 8 AM service) and Carol Leydig (10 AM service) or the church office. Tickets must be purchased before August 28.

The youth will be recycling old cell phones from June 1 through August 31. Only wireless cell phones can be recycled through this program with CTIA Wireless Foundation. The phones will then be reprogrammed, refurbished or recycled. Those that are acceptable will be used to help people in domestic violence situations. Please bring your phones to the church sometime this Summer & place them in the box for cell phones. We appreciate your support of our youth & others through this program.

Since we have no demand this summer, there is no 8 AM nursery scheduled for August. We hope this is not an inconvenience for anyone. Thank you for your cooperation. Yours In Christ, The Church Council.
