St. John's Newsletter June 2008
CHURCH NEWS

The cemetery, church and refrigerator clean-up went very well. A big thank you to all that helped and to our extra helpers, Karen, Nick and Nate.

On June 15th, there will be a door collection once again to help defray expenses for the church sponsored float in the Vesper parade in July.

Youth ushers, Toni Rae and Megan are doing well with Jacob's help and should be able to fill in for Jacob, Charley, Jamie and Jackie when needed for ushering duties.

Congratulations to Justin and Roxanne Herman on the birth of their new baby boy -- Matthew Justin. May God keep all of you in His care. Congratulations to Albert and Jeannine Heiser on 60 years and Russell and Kathy Anderson on 35 years of God's blessings in your marriages. Congratulations to our high school graduate, Charley Froeba; may God guide you on your way.

STEWARDSHIP COMMITTEE

a hug THANK YOU to everyone who donated so many items and bakery and who helped with the garage sale and brat fry. The preparation, sales and clean-up took a lot of hours out of everyone's schedules and were very much appreciated! Thanks to Pastor and Deb for the use of their garage. The total for both sales was $1025.00. We will get matching funds from Thrivent for the brat and bake sale. Part of the funds will go into the general treasury and part will go to the Ladies Aid for the roof fund. The good Lord was watching over us and gave us good weather for both days!

The products that have been delivered to the food pantry have been much appreciated. Once again, please place items in the Rubbermaid container in the meeting room. this month's items are cereal -- any size.

Coming up in the future -- doughnut Sunday and possible outdoor services.

SUNDAY SCHOOL

Sunday, May 18th was our last Sunday School session for this year. It worked fine to have one big class this year, but next year with more students, we should once again separate them into smaller groups. Toni Rae and Megan were happy to receive their first Bible and a plaque was given to Joy Siekert for her many years of service to the Lord. Many children at St. John's were guided by her! Thanks, Joy!

LADIES AID

We are now changing our meeting to the second Wednesday of each month. The next one will be on June 11th at 11 a.m.

Please contact Pastor Doug (569-4878) or Pat Jackan (423-0455) for any items you would like in the newsletter.
