Prayer Request from Louise Hellickson |

Our son, Bruce Hellickson is in very critical condition, even worse than last June and July. Fluids are starting to gather around the lungs and they have drained l and 1/2 gallons of fluid off since Wednesday. The pancreas is working a little but not enough to elimate the stomach acids, so this also is going into the chest cavity and lungs. He is now on life support and comatose. The doctors do not give us much hope for a recovery so we are trying to prepare ourselves. The Lord knows best and our son has suffered so much over the years, maybe God believes Bruce has suffered enough. He and his wife, Kathy, celebrated 25 years of marriage last month in the hospital and also his 49th birthday. If he comes home, we will have a big celebration for them, God willing.Please remember all of us in your prayers. My husband, Chuck had aggressive prostate cancer, with removal of the prostate last week. He is doing well and we are awaiting the results of the pathologist to see if he will need radiation treatments. Due to his surgery, he has not been able to see Bruce who is in the Mt. Carmel East hospital in Columbus. That's hard for him as we are a very close knit family. I'm trying to be with Bruce and his family every other day. The Lord is helping us cope and manage. Bruce and Kathy have a 16 year old daughter, Brittney, and a son. Christopher, who is 19. We refuse to give up hope, yet we pray for God's will and it may not be what we want. Please remember us all. Please keep me and my family in your prayers. My brother passed away Thursday night in Honduras. My parents and my other brother flew to Honduras, but me I made it as far as Atlanta and was disappointed that I could not get there because of passport issues. I can't believe how insensitive they could be. They would not let me go unless I paid $750 which I was willing to pay on my credit card, but I lost my flight and I had to wait three days in the airport and will miss the funeral. I 'm still in shock and I wish that all that is just a dream. At the same time I'm waiting for the answer from God because I know that I couldn't make it for a reason. Please pray for my parents as they are going through this. It's hard for a parent to lose their own child. Thank you.Nadia | |

"All of my wonderful prayer warriors,my dear dear friend Phyllis Kenreich( once a zone president, district V.P. & editor of the ODE, zone convention chairman & registration chairman for the 50th. national convention) has had a return of her cancer- this time it has metastasized to her lung- her test is this week to see how much is involved. Although younger than me she has been my mentor ,prayer partner etc. etc,for over 30 years. Some of you will remember what a strength she & her family were during Jon's and Jim's illness.Please pray that if God in His mercy will bring her through this, but His will be done, and that she and her family will be at peace with what ever His plan is for her." | |
