The mission of Downtown Churches United Inc. is to be responsive to the spiritual and human needs of the Petersburg community, while being a leader in a theologically based, ecumenical movement, in order to lead people to Christ by:• Empowering the powerless
• Respecting human dignity; and
• Being a catalyst to member churches which strengthens and enables them to minister

Guiding Principles |
We, the members believe that:All persons are equal in the sight of God and, therefore, entitled to be treated with fairness, dignity, and respect. The message of the Sovereignty of Jesus Christ, His life, death, and resurrection, must be communicated to the unsaved in our community as well as the wider community. The synergism of Downtown Churches United provides a powerful source of support for member churches in their ministering to those in need.
