February Events | We had an extremely busy month! There were awards given out to some very special people and we had a couple of fantastic fundraisers. As with the mystery/dinner, the Prize Bingo was sold out before some of us could get tickets. From all reports, it was a huge success, and everyone is looking forward to another. Much hard work and effort went into making the Prize Bingo the success it was. |
Our congregational meeting was held on February 23rd. If you didn't attend, you were missed. Four people were voted onto the church council. They are Laura Olsen, Deborah Bretschneider, Lorraine Ochs, and Brandi Kern. The New York Synod approved our new constitution, but suggested that we grant 16-year-old members the right to vote at our congregational meetings. A motion was made to approve that recommendation, and it was passed. |

Thanks to Some Students |
|
St. James would like to especially thank those past and present Sunday School students who so generously shoveled the snow from around the church after the blizzard of February 16-17. These young people did a wonderful job, and it certainly was apprecited. | |
| Sunday School Murder Mystery at St. James | What an excellent job the St. James Sunday School did this past Valentines Day for their first ever Murder Mystery Dinner Theater. The decorations were fantastic, the food was great, the company was enjoyable and the show was superb. What more can we say? Congratulations to them all! | St. James' Members Honored | The awards ceremony held on Friday, February 7, 2003, at P.S. 277 was a very special night for two members of St. James. These people were honored for their dedicated commitment to serving our community and our Church. Helen Hermannson, as we all know, spends much of her precious time quietly helping out St. James without being asked to do so. And Debbie Dong, who pushed hard for a new Library to be built in Gerritsen Beach, was finally rewarded for all her efforts. Take a look at some photos taken of these two remarkable women. | | Continue | | | | |
