November Events | November is here and so it is time for thinking about what we are Thankful for and how we can help others. Please, consider bringing in some non-perishable food items for our baskets located in the front of the Church for distribution to families who have less then ourselves. Also, the Sunday School is once again collecting shoe boxes of gifts for children like themselves who aren't as lucky as they are at Christmas time. |

Godspeed To Our Council President |
On Sunday, November 30th, we said Godspeed to Eric Rasmussen, our Council President, who has been activated from the Reserves to serve our Country overseas. He will be going to New Jersey on Dec. 6 for the first month and then he will be stationed in Kuwait during the next year or so. May God Be With You Eric, and all your Family. We will miss you.

November Flea Market |

Once again, we are delighted to tell you that we had another Flea Market which was a great success. There were terrific instant raffles and excellent items from our vendors. Thanks to Bob Catalano from "Our News" for taking these photos and getting them to our site administrator. Another Great Fundraiser, thank you all for your support. |

2003 Holiday Fair |

This year's Holiday Fair was a huge success. The amount of hard work and dedication put in by our members really pays off. We had quite a few new helpers this year, and the sponsors who donated items to be Raffled off out-did themselves as well. Thanks so much to everyone, especially the Shoppers!! |

St. James Goes On The Air With KTU |
We had a special visit from a member of the radio station 103.5 KTU. Brandi Kern won a "Work Perk" from them and went on the air with Diane Prior (one of their DJs). The time and location of our Holiday Fair fundraiser was promoted and we were given a few items to raffle off. Thanks so much to Christine of the "Work Perk Patrol" for coming and letting us give a Shout Out to everyone in Gerritsen Beach. |

Operation Christmas Child |
For anyone who is not familiar with the Operation Christmas Child program, please visit the link below. Please note that shoeboxes need to be dropped off to church by Sunday, November 16th. If anyone cannot pack a box, but would like to help, why not consider contributing $5.00 in shipping toward one or more boxes. Every bit helps. Any questions, call Linda McHugh @ 769-7215. |

Parish Health News |
Saint James Parish Health Committee invited all women of the community to a day of health. On November 1, 2003, we were joined by the Italian-American Club momography van which gave free mamograms to at least 35 women. Free brochures were available and speakers from the hospital community spoke about womens health.
