On April 28, 2007 Thrivent volunteers from Christ Lutheran Church of Visalia and First Lutheran Church of Dinuba worked together with other volunteers to re-package bulk foods and to make assortment bins for delivery to various food pantries throughout Tulare County. Much fun was had by all as they worked together to accumulate the 2500 volunteer hours needed to fund the $5,000 Care in Regions Disaster Grant that was approved to help feed families that were affected by the January citrus freeze.
Additional workdays are scheduled at the FoodLink warehouse on May 12 and May 19 with work from 8:00 to 11:30. Call chapter president, Rita Crandall, at 732-7777 to join in on this great project! |
