Since it's founding in 1958, Good Shepherd has had a long history of mission involvement and outreach. Outreach continues to play a very important role in the life of the congregation as we strive to extend God's loving hand to others in the community and around the world. Activities include:Namibian Companion Synod Project - Through our membership in the Northeast Iowa Synod of the ELCA, Good Shepherd shares a special relationship with congregations and individuals in the African country of Namibia.
Missionary Support - The congregation provides financial and prayer support for a missionary serving in Nigeria.
Decorah Area Faith Coalition - Good Shepherd participates in an interdenominational faith coalition of local congregations.
Depot Volunteers - Good Shepherd members, in conjunction with other local congregations, provide volunteer and financial support for the Depot, a provider of clothing and other goods to qualifying individuals and families in the area.
Men's Breakfast - Each Wednesday morning at 7:30 a.m., a group of men in the congregation gather for fellowship and conversation.
