UPCOMING EVENTS UPDATEA NIGHT WITH THE STARS
A Star Party at Onan Observatory near Norwood-Young America is planned for Saturday, March 6. An invitation was sent home with your child today. This event is open to anyone who would like to attend. Please let Mr. Groth know the number of people attending from your family by Feb. 26th. Also donations of hot chocolate and cookies are appreciated. PTO MEETINGS
A very important PTO meeting will be at 7 p.m. this Sunday (Feb. 21) in the school library. Plans will be made to rewrite/amend the PTO constitution. Attached to this newsletter are the current PTO Constitution and Bylaws, as well as a copy of Guidelines and Job Descriptions from Mt. Olive Lutheran School–Mankato’s PTF organization. Please take some time to look over these documents before the meeting.
PANCAKE BREAKFAST
A pancake breakfast to benefit the school will be from 9 a.m. to noon Sunday, February 21, at McLeod County Fairgrounds during the Home and Garden Show. The cost is $5 per person for all-you-can-eat pancakes, sausage, juice or coffee.
Thank you to the Bushman, Schlueter and Hoff families for coordinating this event. LUTHERAN EDUCATION WEEK March 1st – 4th is Lutheran Education Week. A schedule of planned events is attached to this newsletter. Volunteers are needed during the week to assist with activities. Please call Mr. Groth at 587-4858 to donate your time. A more detailed schedule will be with the February 26th Friday note. PAY TUITION WITH CREDIT CARDS For your convenience, both elementary school and preschool tuition can be paid by MasterCard and Visa credit cards. Please see School Secretary Ardis Tobison if you would like to use this option.

Planned events:
Monday, March 1: HONORING OUR GOVERNMENT/Pajama Day. Presentations by the McLeod County Sheriff's Department and Color Guard
Tuesday, March 2: HONORING OUR SCHOOL/Silly Clothes Day. Classroom activities.
Wednesday, March 3: HONORING OUR GOD/Hat Day. Kids Against Hunger: Packing meals for children in Haiti. Event takes place in Stewart.
Thursday, March 4: HONORING THOSE WHO SERVED/Red, white, blue and camouflage day. Brunch prepared for veterans of our school and churches with afternoon bowling at Hutch Bowl.Chapel each day: Monday-Wednesday - 9:10 to 9:30 a.m.; Thursday 11 to 11:30 a.m.

BOOK ORDERS |
|
Sent home with your child, are the latest preschool and Teacher's Picks book order forms. We encourage parents to look through the packets with their children and encourage them in their reading. If you pruchase books through Scholastic, the school receives pints that they can in turn us to get new books and school supplies. Payment can be cash or checks made out to SCHOLASTIC BOOK CLUBS.
Starting in October, parents will have the option of ordering books online through a school run web portal. By utilizing this option, the school can cut down on the amount of paperwork and you can order directly from you home. Paper order forms will still be made available.
