July 2006 Iraq Memorial/ Matt Maupin Garden Dedication |
|
Our Chapter helped with funding and volunteer effort to build a garden with benches for veterans of the Iraq War. This garden especially honors Matt Maupin who is a Glen Este High School graduate who was taken hostage in Iraq in 2004 and is still missing. The dedication ceremony was held on July 10, 2006 at the garden at the High School. Special thanks to Becke Davis who led the project getting full community involvement in the past 2 years. Many thanks to all involved in this project for their hard work! | |
