The December meeting / yearly celebration of the Champaign County Chapter # 31082 is currently planned for Monday Evening, December 7th, 2003 at 7:15PM at the Ribeye restaurant in Champaign. All board members and spouses are welcome to attend.

We will plan at least the date of our first meeting in 2004 at this event, and do any year-end assignments needed to complete this year on track.

CHAMPAIGN COUNTY THRIVENT CHAPTER MINUTES
Monday, December 7, 2003 5:30 p.m.

The Decenber meeting of the Champaign Chapter of Thrivent Financial for Lutherans was held at the Ribeye steakhouse. Fellowship between the leaders, financial associates and their spouses helped to build our relationships. Board members present: Judy, Lynette, Norm, Paul, Bobbie, Erwin, Bob, Rick Craig, Darrell Brandt, Bruce and Eleanor Dani.

We discussed the good and the bad for this year and what we need to do better in the next year. Finding leaders willing to step in and sit on the board is a major goal for us in the next year. We need to work throughout the year to find additional board members, so we have a full slate for the elections in 2004 (as well as helping to spread the work out during the next year).

We accomplished a lot – had some very good fundraisers and helped people in the community.

The major problem we have is standardizing the application process, and getting the word out to people on how to apply for funding and what documentation is required after a project is approved. Several sample documents were reviewed or commented on.

It was established that Tuesday evenings would work best for the board, we will hold the first one at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Champaign.
