| | | A most successful annual luncheon / election was held at the Chancellor Convention center in Champaign after church on October 19th.  One Hundred and Seventy Five members and family members from the Champaign County showed up to an excellent lunch prepared by the staff of the convention center. Chapter President Judy Rademaker gave talks several times during the luncheon describing what we have accomplished as a chapter this year, and helping people to understand the role of the chapter members, the congregational coordinators, and the chapter leaders.

|  Posters detailing various projects that have been completed in the Champaign County Chapter during the year were displayed for viewing on entry to the event. Included were projects completed by congregations and Care Abounds in Community projects as well as summaries of money spent and funds raised for each project.

| Thanks to all who had a part in the chapter this year, and helped make it a success so far.

Chapter, find out exactly what this "Thrivent" thing is all about, and
vote for your local and national leaders. Your church will be receiving

NOMINATIONS REQUESTED: Nominations for leadership positions in the Champaign County Chapter of Thrivent Financial for Lutherans are being accepted by the current Vice President of the chapter, Walter Pierce, at 649-5215 or nominate@champaignchapter.org. Nominations are accepted for all positions, including: President, Vice President, Records Director, Financial Director, Congregational Service Team Director, Assistant Financial Director, Communications Director, Community Service Team Director, Events Director, and Youth Director. | It has been suggested by a congregational coordinator at one church that he email those in the church reminding people about the Luncheon Election. A sample email to be sent out follows:Friends (or however you would phrase it):Don't miss this opportunity to fellowship with other lutherans from the Champaign County area while treating your family to a free buffet luncheon. Find out what is going on with your organization, Thrivent Financial for Lutherans (formed when AAL and LB merged). Talk to the leaders of the Champaign Chapter who are involved in trying to assist you in funding your volunteer efforts. Have a chance to win one of several door prizes, including a 20” TV with DVD, one of three cordless phones, and several other items. Have an impact on Thrivent by voting for the board of directors of this Fortune 500 financial services firm, and vote for your local leaders as well.
