Lutheran Disaster Response (LDR) is a collaborative ministry of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA) and The Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod (LCMS). LDR seeks to demonstrate Christ's compassion for people by promoting hope, healing, and wholeness for disaster survivors. As member and ministry groups serve victims, they are sharing Christ.Lutheran Disaster Response is modeled on the concept of long-term recovery and meeting the unmet needs of those affected. Volunteers are perhaps the greatest asset of Lutheran Disaster Response. Volunteers make such an impact on the people whom they serve, and they, in turn, are impacted by the hope and perseverance shown by those who have survived disaster. | |
