| Care in Regions |
|
Through the Care in Regions program, Thrivent Financial for Lutherans provides funding for members of multiple chapters to come together, through community service teams, and work with their regional manager of Lutheran Community Services (MLCS) to address a significant regional need(s). The community service teams conduct fund-raising activities, appeals/collections and/or hands-on service activities that benefit individuals, families and not-for-profit organizations (including congregations) with significant needs. All activities are approved by the MLCS. |

2006 Care in Regions |

At our February Chapter Leader Rally the volunteer Chapter Leaders from across the 12 county region voted their priorities for allocation of the Care in Regions dollars for 2006. Those priorities are being matched to applications from local organizations. Results from this process will be communicated at a later date. | |

| Care in Regions 2005 (TM) program funding |

In 2005 year, nonprofit organizations in the Twin Cities Region received nearly $96,000 through the Care in Regions (TM) program.
Through a survey of chapter leaders taken at the Chapter Leader Rally in February, hunger & homelessness and strengthening families & youth were chosen as the needs that will receive Care in Regions(TM) program support in 2005.The organizations that received funding in 2005 included Agora, CEAP, Children's Home Society, Concordia Academy, Feed My Starving Children, Heritage Christian Academy, Heritage Christian Academy, Lutheran High School of Greater Minneapolis, Lutheran Social Services - Sponsor a Family, Mayer Lutheran High School, MN Food Share, Omega Camp, Red Lake - Joseph's Journey, St. Croix Lutheran High School, West Lutheran High School, and Youth Encounter. Thrivent Financial is provided 33 cents for every $1 raised by these organizations up to a maximum dollar amount. |
