| Four Twin Cities Area volunteers were nominated for this National Award and were recognized at a special production of Church Basement Ladies 2: A Second Helping, at the Plymouth Playhouse on April 26, 2008. Each nominee was also awarded $250 for the charity of their choice. We thank them and honor them for all they do to help their communities. |

Mona Pasko |
Mona is the Assistant Financial Director for the NW Hennepin County Chapter. Mona's volunteer activity includes the Champlin Dayton Athletic Association, Champlin Elementary School, Multiple Sclerosis Walk, Servant of Christ Lutheran Church, and The Red Hat Society. Mona inspires others with her "can-do" attitude! |
Michelle Waldron |
Michelle is the President of the NW Hennepin County Chapter. Her many activities include volunteering with Families Moving Forward, Christian Life Ministry, Via deCristo and Abundant Life Groups at Advent Lutheran Church, Thrivent Builds with Habitat for Humanity Worldwide trip to Biloxi, Feed My Starving Children and Luther Park Bible Camp. Michelle offers herself as a living example of hospitality and service. |
Bill Bergquist |
Bill is the Thrivent Builds Chapter Specialist for the NW Minneapolis Chapter and since the fall of 2006, has recruited over 250 people to volunteer at the local build site! He has inspired others to become Thrivent Builds Chapter Specialists and volunteered to be part of a speaker's bureau to the greater metro area congregations. His servant leadership embodies fruits of the Spirit, and has shown others the way to live out their values of faith and service. |
| Matthew Eldred |
Matt serves as Youth Director for the Scott County Chapter and has been active in Join Hands Day activities, Thrivent Builds and Operation Christmas Child. He is committed to helping students understand global world issues through the YMCA - Youth in Government Model United Nations program, and the MN United Nations Association's Model program. Quoting his former teacher, "Matt just thrives in every arena of public service." |
