At 9am a unique group of volunteers will gather on Saturday, May 15th, at 30th & Troost in Kansas City, MO., for Operation Blessing. Volunteers from the corporate world, including those from Thrivent Financial for Lutherans, Sprint, AT&T, the KCMO Police Athletic League and several neighborhood groups, will met with a goal of distributing groceries to approximately 3,000 people. Operation Blessing is an international nonprofit working around the globe. They furnished 3 tractor trailer loads last year (about 100,000 lbs) of palletized groceries and the gathered volunteers placed the groceries in plastic shopping bags for distribution.
