Benton-Hickory County Chapter

About Our Chapter
Thank you for visiting our chapter Web site. Here’s a few things you should know about our chapter.

We cover the Southern part of Benton County, & Hickory County in Central Missouri. Our chapter is made up of Thrivent members from four churches in these two counties.

Our chapter is one of 1,378 nationwide chartered local units of Thrivent Financial for Lutherans that brings Thrivent Financial for Lutherans members together for charitable, social and educational activities. Chapters are organized geographically, primarily by county. All Thrivent Financial for Lutherans members belong to a chapter in the area in which they live, which enables them to aid themselves and others through voluntary action.

Each chapter has a leadership board made up of Thrivent Financial for Lutherans members who are elected and/or appointed. The chapter leadership board is responsible for allocating funds to service teams for helping individuals and community organizations.

For questions about our chapter or to get involved in our volunteer activities, contact a chapter leader by clicking "Meet our Chapter Leaders" below.

Thank you for your generosity
It was an unbelivable night!
There was chili or soup, and small concert by the WHS band, and huge silent auction and then Trivia.
We were able to raise (at last count) $19462 for the Harry Gardner Family. Harry was the WHS Band instructor and had a series of heart attacks in December and was left with a tramatic brain injury. His wife is pregnant and is having medical difficulties. The band students had planned a chili/soup fundraiser for a band trip to Chicago and after Mr. Gardner fell ill the students wanted to go ahead with the fundraiser and give the money to Mr. Gardner. Our chapter was able to match part of the funds. We had nearly everything donated, served over 600 people, had 33 Thrivent families involved and over 650 hours of volunteers.
Thank you to everyone!!

New things for 2007
The Benton-Hickory County Chapter of Thrivent Financial for Lutherans recently held their first meeting of 2007. Besides serving as an orientation for newly elected officers our Financial Director , Donna Hart-Nolte presented a re-cap of money benefitting our community. A grand total of $30,277 has benefitted 19 organizations and 5 individuals since 2004. Aid Association for Lutherans (AAL) and Lutheran Brotherhood were combined in 2004 and created Thrivent Financial for Lutherans. Through their Care in Communities and Care in Congregations Programs as well as the annual Helping Hands Day volunteer members and non-members of this local chapter have helped with fund-raisers and hands-on service activities.
