About Our Chapter |
Thank you for visiting our chapter Web site. Here’s a few things you should know about our chapter. We cover the Southern part of Benton County, & Hickory County in Central Missouri. Our chapter is made up of Thrivent members from four churches in these two counties. Our chapter is one of 1,378 nationwide chartered local units of Thrivent Financial for Lutherans that brings Thrivent Financial for Lutherans members together for charitable, social and educational activities. Chapters are organized geographically, primarily by county. All Thrivent Financial for Lutherans members belong to a chapter in the area in which they live, which enables them to aid themselves and others through voluntary action. Each chapter has a leadership board made up of Thrivent Financial for Lutherans members who are elected and/or appointed. The chapter leadership board is responsible for allocating funds to service teams for helping individuals and community organizations. For questions about our chapter or to get involved in our volunteer activities, contact a chapter leader by clicking "Meet our Chapter Leaders" below. | | ****************************** |

It was an unbelivable night! There was chili or soup, and small concert by the WHS band, and huge silent auction and then Trivia. We were able to raise (at last count) $19462 for the Harry Gardner Family. Harry was the WHS Band instructor and had a series of heart attacks in December and was left with a tramatic brain injury. His wife is pregnant and is having medical difficulties. The band students had planned a chili/soup fundraiser for a band trip to Chicago and after Mr. Gardner fell ill the students wanted to go ahead with the fundraiser and give the money to Mr. Gardner. Our chapter was able to match part of the funds. We had nearly everything donated, served over 600 people, had 33 Thrivent families involved and over 650 hours of volunteers. Thank you to everyone!!List of donors:(we tried really hard not to leave anyone out, if we did we are sorry) Food Items: Chicken Noodle Soup Mary Ann Daniels,Chili Pam Carleton, chili Jowell Roellig,Chili Kris Burnett,Chili Jamey Derks, chili Zane McCubbin, chili Rhonda Reedy, chili Betty Wilcox, vegetable soup Lorraine Larson, chili Melinda Huffman, chili Nellie Harper/Elaine Simons, soup Karen Johnson, chili Tammy Nelson, chili Roberta Schnakenberg, chili - 2 pots Gwen Beem, chili Martha Meyer, chili Theresa Spry, chili Marsha Eaton, soup Jane Larsen, soup Debbie Spencer, chili Sally Yaeger,Chicken Noodle Soup - 2 Jeri Boyd, chili Chris Condray chili Gina Kjar,Cheesy potato soup Jill Robertson, chili Ann Graham,Chili Nancy Dowell Chicken Noodle Soup Amy Spunaugle, chili Roberta Hauschel (mom of Amy S),9 batches chili Teddi Owsley and FACS Classes, vegetable soup Becky Arnold,Chili/soup Sara Wynn,chili/soup Warren Hunt,chili/soup Larry Burditt, soup Jamey Derks, chili Julie Ferguson, chili Ethan Newman Desserts 2 desserts Donna Crouch,1 dessert Jowell Roellig, chocolate sheet cake Emily Harding, 2 desserts Randy Morrow,2 cakes Penny Clair, mom's cookies Amy & Marc Spunaugle,1 dessert Jamey Derks,1 dessert Kim Rowles-Stapp,2 pans brownies Betty Wilcox,1 dessert Pam Carleton,1 dessert Sara Forester,15 cakes Paradise Point Pink Ladies, cookie bars Tammie Vermillion,1 dessert Viola Lampe,3 desserts Becky Arnold,Brownies Kristin Swiggart,1 dessert Theresa Jeffs, 15 desserts Kathryn Edwards - Cedar Grove SS Class (Chris Black/Cheryl Stewart/Sue Davidson/Valorie Fauquier Tina Brown/Terry Kincaid/Shirley Stone/Marva Welborn Sharon Fanning/Kathryn Edwards/Monica Miller/ Linda Seal/Traci Callahan/Cora Harms) Other Items Hamburger Kristy Henderson Hamburger Arlene Wells $25 for supplies Regina Bidwell chopped onions Betty Wilcox Beans/tomatos/chili seas.
