February 16th, 2009 7:00 P.M.

The regular monthly meeting of South Goodhue County Chapter of Thrivent
Financial For Lutherans was called to order by President Mary Tri at
Christ Lutheran in Zumbrota at 7:00 p.m.on Monday, February 16, 2009.

Present: Mary Tri - President; Bob Rosenquist Jr. - Vice-President;
JoEllen Voxland - Records Director; Kelly Thiem - Financial Director;
Yvonne Raasch - Asst. Financial Director; Shirley Perrotti - Events
Director; Geraldine Thumann - Congregational Service Team Director; Joan
Zemke - Community Service Team Director; Carol Frederizon - Youth
Director; Richard Ellingsburg - Commications Director

Rich moved and Shirley seconded to accept 6 new members. Motion carried

Kelly moved and Carol seconded to accept the minutes of the January 19th,
meeting as printed. Motion carried.

Bob moved and Shirley seconded to approve the Financial Report handed
out by Kelly and Yvonne. Motion carried, showing
$15,962 balance in Care Abounds in Coummunity Funds,
$4993.56 in our Operating funds Detail Summary,
$4993.56 in our Goodhue County Thrivent Checking Account.
$499.14 used from our Operating Funds.

NEW BUSINESS

* Thank you cards were received from Gwen Stehr, the family of Russ
Clevenger,& Adele Trent
* Kelly reported the chapter Audit has been completed.
* Bob and Shirley plan to attend the training seminars
* Gary Irmiter the "Thrivent Builds Specialist" spoke to the Board about
the need for our area to have a Chapter Specialist. He also talked about
the upcoming Golf tournament that is planned for this summer with funding
going towards the Habitat for Humanity project in Cannon Falls.
*Suggestions were made for the Appreciation/Training Event which will
Be held April 20th . We could recognize the 6 individuals that are
listed on the Request for Funding Questionaire's.
Gerry will contact the "With One Voice" group from the United Redeemer.
Other suggestions are having a Soup & Sandwich night at Christ Lutheran
*The Board decided that we will be going to the Chanhassen Dinner Theatre
On October 14th to see "Oklahoma".
The MN Twins game on August 26th.
The summer picnic will be on July 9th.
No date set yet for the Honkers Game.
No date set yet the Golf Tournament.
Shirley will do some checking on buses for Chanhassen event.
FUNDING REQUESTS:

(1)The Pine Island Senior Malt Wagon scheduled for June 12-14 was tabled.
To be decided on during the regular monthly May meeting

2) Rick moved and Shirley seconded to approve the request for the Pine
Haven Pancake Auxiliary on March 29, 2009 at $.50 cents on the dollar
up to Maximum of $500.00

(3) Shirley moved and Bob seconded to approve the request for Relay
Life Zumbro Valley on March 15, 2009 at $.50 cents on the dollar up to a
Maximum Of $300.00

4) Joan moved and Bob seconded to approve the request for St. Peter's
Belvedere For Quilts which will be an ongoing funding all spring
for a $ amount of $600.00

FOLLOW UP ON LAST MONTH'S REQUEST
The funding for the Wanamingo Lions request for $.50 cents on the dollar
up to a maximum of $450.00 was approved pending the approval of concrete
table purchase.

Bob moved and Yvonne seconded the motion to adjourn the meeting.
Motion carried

Next meeting will be held and 7:00 p.m.at Christ Lutheran Church on Monday
March 16, 2009
