Last year, the Northeast Portland Chapter Leadership Board decided to strongly endorse the local Habitat for Humanity grant application to the national office. As a result of our chapter's support, along with the overwhelming support from other metro Portland chapters, Thrivent became a Bronze Hammer sponsor of the current Lents project in SE Portland.Future ThriventBuilds homeowner Jill Giedt looks forward to moving in early spring of 2006. Right now, her home exterior looks great even surrounded with construction mud. The interior components such as cabinetry, doors and flooring will soon be installed.
CONSIDER THIS:
More than 650 volunteer hours were put into this project from our NE Portland chapter members in 2005. Without a doubt, the incredible group of hands-on workers, especially from Augustana Lutheran Church, have seen the power of their time, energy and good wishes.
