MaryAnn Waldon has served previously on the Galveston County Chapter Board as the Records Director and has served in many positions previously for Aid Association for Lutherans. | Vice President - Ruby Reviere |
Ruby is a member of Christus Victor Lutheran Church. Ruby has been a resident of Friendswood since 1970. She has four adult children, two of whom live outside the United States. She loves to travel and has been to 32 countries. She has served as the president of the Friendship Force of Houston, an international exchange organization whose major goal is to make friends around the world. She is retired but previously worked as School Food Services Director for TC and Goose Creek. This is Ruby’s third term as Vice – President. | Records Director - Sheri Foltz |
Sheri Foltz was born and raised in the Houston area, but has lived in San Angelo, Midland, Kingsville, Austin, Galveston, and now Texas City. She received a Bachelor’s degree from Angelo State University in San Angelo, Texas and a Master’s degree in Molecular Biology from Texas A&M-Kingsville in 2002. She has worked at UTMB for 6 years, and has spent the last three years in the Microbiology Department working in a Select Agent Lab. She purchased a small house in Texas City recently and enjoys fixing it and making it her home. She has previously served as Congregation Coordinator and looks forward to serving on Galveston county Thrivent board. Sheri is a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Galveston. | Financial Director - Kathy Olson |
Kathy Is a graduate of the University of New Orleans (with a BS in Chemistry.) She is a native of New Orleans, Louisiana, & lived there until she went to work in 1979 for Celanese Chemical Company in Houston. Her position when she retired was Corporate Account Manager. She has been a widow for two years. She has served at Hope Congregation as the Financial Director, as a member of the Board of Directors and taught Sunday School. | Congregational Service Team Director - Delores Bahr |
Delores Bahr is a widow, former teacher and member of Peace Lutheran church. She has worked in an AAL branch over 15 years. Served as a Lamplighter helping to start new branches and train the leaders both at the branch level and at area leadership training meeting. She was trained in Appleton as a Training Specialist. Community Service Team Director - Claudean Smith |
Claudean Smith has previusly served two years as Records Director. Claudean has been a Missouri Synod Lutheran for 50 years and is a member of St. John’s Lutheran in Galveston where she is church treasurer. She also has served as the president of the Ladies Aid Society and the treasurer of the Gulf Coast Zone of the Lutheran Women’s Missionary League. She has served as Congregational Coordinator for Thrivent since the merger, and she previously held offices for pre-merger Aid Association for Lutherans. Claudean and her soldier husband are retired from the U. S. Army after 28 years in the service traveling in the United States and abroad. They have six children, five of them are adopted. Events Director-Dorothy Garrick |
Dorothy Garrick has been a member of Peace Lutheran Church in Texas City since 1969. She has lived in League City with her husband, Paul for the past 23 years. She retired from College of the Mainland in January 2007 after 26 years of service. She served as a Thrivent Congregational Coordinator in 2006. She has three grandchildren. Her husband, Paul, who is currently a Congregational Coordinator, has been President and Finance Director of the chapter in the past. Dale Jorgenson is married, has 3 adult children (one attending U.T) and 3 grandchildren. He graduated for the University of Washington and has an MBA and CPA. He is now retired but has served a CFO for various companies. He moved from Hawaii to Houston in 2003 and attends Hope Lutheran Church in Friendswood. Sheryl Holland lives with her husband in Texas City and assists in operating their business, Texas Air Services in Dickinson. They have two grown children. Sheryl is a member of Memorial Lutheran in Texas City. Sheryl has also served as treasurer of the Women of ELCA, Texas – Louisiana Synod of the Gulf Coast and also served as vice-president of that group.
