Please read the following guidelines carefully before filling out your “Care Abounds in Communities” Project/Fundraiser Form. These guidelines have been set by Thrivent Financial for Lutherans and the Northeast Brown County Chapter Leadership Board #30070 in an effort to help you in making the most of your request. All financial requests will be considered for approval based on the following:1. To qualify for activity/funding approval, your project/fundraiser must greatly benefit an individual and/or families in need, as well as charitable religious or educational organizations exempt from federal income taxes. Congregations are not eligible.
2. Two (2) or more Thrivent Congregational Service Teams and/or County Chapters working together with a joint project/fundraiser that would greatly benefit a person, a family or a non-profit organization (other than a congregation) may apply for activity/funding approval.
3. “Care Abounds in Communities” is an annual program, following a January to December calendar year. All requests for funds must be submitted by November 15, 2008. All completed project reports must be submitted by December 15, 2008.
4. To qualify for activity/funding approval, your community service team must include at least one individual from a minimum of six (6) Thrivent Financial member households who play an active part in the planning of, organizing of, and/or implementing of your project/fundraiser activity.
5. A minimum of $100 needs to be requested in order for an activity to be eligible for fund disbursement.
6. A maximum project/activity funding of $1,600 is available to benefit a person, a family or a non-profit organization.
7. The service team coordinator must fill out completely the “Care Abounds in Communities” Project/Fundraiser Request Form. If any information is missing, the form will be returned for completion. This will delay a possible approval for the project.
8. The completed Project/Fundraiser Request form MUST be submitted to the Northeast Brown County Chapter Leadership Board for approval at least forty-five (45) days before your scheduled community project/fundraiser is to take place. Exception to this guideline are funding requests for help with unforeseen catastrophes and/or emergencies (I.e. accidents, fires, etc). Approval will NOT be given after a project/fundraiser has been completed. This time period will also allow the Leadership Board time to help promote your event by posting it on our “Chapter Website“, and by doing a post card mailing to all chapter members.
9. The completed Project/Fundraiser Request Form should be received by the 15th of the month to be considered for approval at the next meeting of the Northeast Brown County Chapter Leadership Board.
10. Upon completion of your activity/fundraiser the completed receipt envelope MUST be returned within thirty (30) days of the event. All income, expenses, and receipts MUST be included. ALL NET FUNDS raised by the community service team MUST be deposited in the chapter’s checking account for Care Abounds in Communities fund-raisers. This is to ensure the same amount reported as net income matches the amount deposited in the chapter’s checking account.
11. Thrivent Financial for Lutherans and the Northeast Brown County Chapter #30070 in NO WAY guarantee funding assistance for your project/fundraiser request until approval is granted.
12. ALL Project/Fundraiser Request Forms are carefully considered and voted on by the Northeast Brown County Chapter Leadership Board.
13. ALL final decisions pertaining to your request will be communicated to your community service team coordinator in person, by phone and/or in writing.
