Our Chapter's 2008 Thrivent Builds with Habitat for Humanity
This was our Yadkin River Chapter of Thrivent Financial for Lutherans Thrivent Builds 2008 project.
The build site address was 1750 Burton St. near the intersection of W. 23rd St. & S M Caesar Dr.
The house Kickoff to raise the walls and put the house under roof was Wed. thru Sat., March 26-29, 2008. The volunteer work was essentially completed the 2d week of May. Contractor items were completed and then some minor completion items, landscaping and cleanup. The house was dedicated on Sunday, June 29, 2008. Thanks to all that helped with the build for making life in Winston Salem better for the Brown family.

Ja'Net Patrice Brown
Ahmad Kashad Leonard, son
Ja'Net graduated from Carver High School and has resided here for the past 30 years. She has also attended Forsyth Tech, and is currently a Medical Assisting and Office Technology student at Brookstone College. She enjoys reading, cooking, watching movies, bowling and basketball. Ahmad is 10 and enjoys playing football, basketball and is active in various church activities.
