Tom is returning to the Board after a one-year respite. He and his wife Lynn worship at The River, an ELCA mission congregation in Alpharetta. Tom is active in the music team and oversees stewardship. He also has previously led the synod strategic planning committee, been a member of the Board of Directors of the Atlanta Hunger Walk and participated in numerous Habitat build projects.His role as chapter president is to provide leadership and strategic direction to the board. |
A native from California, Robert works at Lutheran Services of Georgia as the Associate Director of Development. At LSG he works with congregations across the state to the meet the needs of their communities. He is also serving on the Team Lutheran Disaster Group to help victims of the recent floods in North Georgia. A background in ministry, he previously worked at the Atlanta Union Mission connecting ministries to homeless families in Atlanta. He is an active volunteer with the Community Action Center in Sandy Springs.As VP Robert provides leadership in the absence of the president along with leading the nomination process and serving as legislative contact for the chapter. Julie is excited to have the opportunity to work with the North Fulton Chapter of Thrivent again. She previously served on the Board for two years in the capacity of Records Director. Julie lives in Roswell with her husband of 18 years, Joseph and their 11 year old daughter, Jordan. | Congregational Advocates Director: Pam Blaesing |
|
Originally from Illinois, Pam recently retired from her career as a health care business analyst after 29 years. Pam has a long history of serving in lay leadership positions, and has been at Prince of Peace since 1995. She is active at Prince of Peace Lutheran church, serving in the choir and altar guild. Pam has also led prayer ministries, has served as part of the worship team, and has served on the church council.In her role she supports the congregational service teams by encouraging them to form and initiate activities that qualify for congregational program funds. pblaesing@bellsouth.net |

|
John moved to Alpharetta 10 years ago from Ohio and is currently the lead musician at The River, a new mission congregation. He was previously the worship chair at Lord of Life Lutheran Church and was also active in middle and high school youth mission trips there. Previously, John served in various capacities as a church musician, organist, and lay leader in Lutheran congregations in Ohio and Texas. During the week John works as a research scientist at Georgia Tech and in the evenings and weekends he helps his wife Becky, manage a family of four very active teenagers.John oversees communication activities, including newsletters and the chapter website. Thrivent Builds Specialist: Wayne Smith |
|
Wayne is a member of Rivercliff Lutheran Church where he has served as the Habitat Volunteer Coordinator since 1993. He also serves on the board of the Lutheran Coalition for Habitat. Wayne is also an active volunteer with Boy Scout Troop 989 in Roswell and plays raquetball when his back will allow.As Thrivent Builds Specialist, Wayne's role is to ensure that the volunteers and financing are in place for the Thrivent Builds home that has been awarded to the Chapter in 2008.
