Lutherans in Southeast reach out to Biloxi Katrina
On Oct. 21-27, 2007, 160 of us went to Biloxi to work with Habitat, helping Katrina victims. The fraternal office of Thrivent Financial for Lutherans for NC,SC, and GA organized the trip and brought $40,000 in disaster funds for building materials from the Care in Regions program. We spent a week on construction of new homes, and had a Great Time. We made a big differance & saw that there is a LOT yet to do.
But not just Habitat house work: One team became the first responders to victims of a tornado in Bayou LaBatre, AL.

Team members work alongside members of a Habitat for Humanity host community, raising awareness of the burden of poverty housing and building decent, affordable homes worldwide. 	Team work - we all worked together so well & had a lot of fun.
