Welcome to Thrivent Builds in Greenville County. Thrivent Builds is a Partnership between Thrivent Financial for Lutherans, Habitat for Humanity and many of the Lutheran Churches in Greenville County, South Carolina. Together we will build a home for a family that is in housing distress. The families come to us through Habitat. They work hundreds of hours of sweat-equity to get to the point of building their own house. The Funding for the house comes 55% from Thrivent, 35% for the Greenville County Habitat for Humanity and 10% from Lutherans in Greenville County. The Build will start on August 27th in Taylors, SC. If you would be interested in participating, take a look at the schedule incorporated in the volunteer sign up sheet. Pick your day, fill out the sign up form and the Habitat for Humanity waiver and email them to Don Owings at dbowings@netscape.net. If you would be interested in contributing to the funding for the build, send you checks, made out to Thrivent Builds to Linda Stazer, 127 Greybridge Road, Pelzer, SC. 29669. We would love to have you join us.

Each Church participating in the Thrivent Builds has one or more Church Champions that are part of the Steering Committee for the Build. Non-Construction Sign Up Form |

Non-Construction Sign Up forms are for people who don't like to get involved in building activities, like hammering or putting up siding, but would like to help by providing food to feed the Construction Crew, make phone calls to remind the Construction Volunteers or host the Site Tent. These people are just as vital as the Construction Crew. If you feel yourself drawn to these activities please fill out the Non-Construction Volunteer Form and a Minor or Adult Waiver Form and return them as stated in the introduction. Adult Waiver Form |

One Adult Waiver Form must be completed and sent in with every Volunteer Sign Up Form for persons 18 or over. Be sure that you fill it out completely, sign it and have it witnessed. Then forward it to Pam Creasy at the addresses listed in the welcome page. | |

Minor Waiver Form |

Young Adults 16 to 18 are encouraged to participate in a Thrivent Build. They need to complete both the Volunteer Sign Up Form and a Minor Waiver. Sorry, Young Adults under the age of 16 are not permitted to work on a Habitat for Humanity Work site. You may want to consider helping prepare food (eg. cookies are great)or helping with the Volunteer Sign Up at your Church. Note that if you do sign up as a Minor, you will need parental permission. Please have the Minor Waiver forms apropriatly signed and witnessed. | |

Medical Emergency Form |

While it is not required that you submit an Emergency Medical Form, if you know that you are susceptible to certain contions which you may be exposed to during the build,(eg. allergic to bug bites or allergic to certain foods) you may want to have such a form on file at the Build site. | |
