Thrivent chapter cited for excellence |
Business Briefs The Southeast Regional Financial Office of Thrivent Financial for Lutherans recently named the Athens chapter a "Chapter of Excellence" for its contribution to the local community in 2005. In order to earn the Thrivent Financial Chapter of Excellence status, a chapter had to meet 10 key hallmarks, including conducting youth-adult volunteer programs and utilizing 100 percent of the funding available to support service projects through the chapter's Care Abounds in Communities program. The Athens chapter carried out many projects, including one in which youth groups from four area Lutheran Churches bought and collected coats for needy children. This chapter's leadership board consists of Barbara Jean Artelt, president; George W. Veeder, vice president; Susan K. Ensley, records director; Diana L. Pearson, financial director; Wanda Lou Stitt-Gohdes, congregational service team director; Thelma N. Rodekohr, communications director; Lynn O. Faust, youth director; Blake S. Robinson, financial associate adviser; and Janet I. Rodekohr, Thrivent Builds chapter specialist.Thrivent Financial for Lutherans is a nonprofit Fortune 500 financial services organization. | |
