About Our Chapter |
Thank you for visiting our chapter Web site. Here’s a few things you should know about our chapter. Our chapter is one of nearly 1,400 nationwide chartered local units of Thrivent Financial for Lutherans that brings Thrivent Financial for Lutherans members together for charitable, social and educational activities. Chapters are organized geographically, primarily by county. All Thrivent Financial for Lutherans members belong to a chapter in the area in which they live, which enables them to aid themselves and others through voluntary action. Each chapter has a leadership board made up of Thrivent Financial for Lutherans members who are elected and/or appointed. The chapter leadership board is responsible for allocating funds to service teams for helping individuals and community organizations. For questions about our chapter or to get involved in our volunteer activities, contact a chapter leader by clicking "Meet our Chapter Leaders" below. | |

ACTIVITY EXAMPLES |
Care Abounds in Communities® program activities can include fund-raisers and hands-on service activities. Following are examples of both.--A hands-on service activity involves volunteer labor to assemble, develop or improve something for an identified recipient. Thrivent Financial provides financial assistance to purchase necessary materials used in an activity in which the service team members provide the volunteer support (labor). For example, a service team could request funds to purchase materials to construct a handicap-accessible playground for the community. Hands-on service funds should not be used for education or recognition events, supplies at fund-raising activities, or for payment of professional or contracted services by vendors. --A fund-raising activity is an activity conducted to generate funds. For example, a service team could conduct a community festival or benefit dinner to raise funds for the local food bank. |
