Care Abounds in Communities |
Through the Care Abounds in Communities® chapter Care program, Thrivent Financial for Lutherans provides funding for members participating in community service teams. These teams are formed to conduct fund-raising activities and/or hands-on service activities. Activities can benefit individuals, families, local communities or organizations that are exempt from federal income tax under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code, excluding congregations. (This includes charitable, educational and religious organizations, excluding congregations.) Activity requests for funding are directed to the chapter leadership board. In the past year, the number of applications received by our chapter leadership board has increased, putting more demand on the finite funds our chapter has to give. As a result, we have found it necessary to better define the criteria we use in the approval process, and we want to share this information with the volunteers throughout our chapter to ensure that each application is given the proper consideration. Details can be found using the Care Criteria link shown below. Also below you will find a link to the application for funds in both PDF and Word formats, as well as the form to report the results of your activity. Each one has been filled in with the Chapter Leader information. Simply print out, fill in, and mail to the address shown. Or, if you have the programs necessary to edit the file, you can download it, fill in the information for your activity, Save it to a new file name reflecting the organization or activity (to prevent your application from overwriting another one already received), and email it as an attachment to: Stephen Fardig 199 Pearl St. Kingston, NY 12401 email address: vzegh2@verizon.net | | | | |
