Who We Are
Chesapeake Habitat for Humanity is a Christian-based non-profit housing ministry that builds simple, decent homes in partnership with families in need in Baltimore City. We work with families who otherwise could not afford homeownership.
The families invest their labor as ‘sweat equity’ and work with our volunteers to build their own home. For our partner families we are a hand up, not a hand-out. After working on their homes the families receive an interest-free mortgage, which we recycle to build more homes. Chesapeake Habitat for Humanity has now completed 81 homes.
