|
•For every hour, as many as 115 children are abused. •90% of children from violent homes witness their fathers beating their mothers. •63% of all boys, age 11-20, who commit murder, kill the man who was abusing their mother. •Children in homes where violence occurs are physically abused or neglected at. a rate 1500% higher than the national average. •Research has shown that the more severe the abuse of the mother, the worse the child is abused. •Nationally, 75% of battered women say their children are physically or sexually abused. •Daughters of abused women are six times more likely to be sexually abused as girls from non-abusive families. •Research has found that 13 out of 20 incestuous fathers were also physically violent to their wives and to their family members. •More than half of the child abductions in this country occur within the context of domestic violence. •Approximately 3.3 million children witness domestic violence occurrences in their homes each year. •Child victims of severe violence have two to four times higher rates of trouble-making friends, temper tantrums, failing grades in school, having problems in school and at home. •Abused children are arrested by the police four times more often than nonabused children. |

Feed The Children: U.S Programs. |
The heart of Feed The Children's U.S. program is distributing food to families in need. To do this, we work closely with caring corporate partners that donate surplus food and other supplies, as well as with individual donors who help defray the cost of transporting the product donations.Feed The Children's wholly-owned subsidiary, FTC Transportation, Inc., picks up in-kind contributions from corporate warehouses and brings them to one of six Feed The Children regional distribution centers. Some of the donations are then distributed in bulk and others are processed into individual relief boxes. |

Operation: Care and Comfort |
|
The Operation: Care and Comfort Military Care Package Program’s mission is to provide support and comfort to “adopted” units of deployed U.S. military service members, serving in Iraq, Afghanistan, and conflict regions, by sending care packages containing needed items. Working with our community, we ship to these units on a monthly basis, until they return home. |
