Bible Study - The Hidden Hand of God - Session 7
This month we enter the world of
Queen Esther, witnessing in her story the marvelous intertwining of
loving
loyalty (hesed), heroism and the hidden hand of God that has
accompanied us
throughout our study together. Theme verse Esther 2:17a "The
king loved
Esther more than all the other women; of all the virgins she won his
favor and
devotion."
Global
Health AIDS/Hospice Kits
The HIV/AIDS epidemic has added
enormous challenges to health care worldwide. Missionaries, their
health care
worker colleagues and patient's families in third world countries must
provide
daily care to AIDS patients who suffer from the symptoms of a
devastating, end
stage disease. Global Heath is helping by sending AIDS/Hospice kits
that can
provide cleanliness and comfort. If you are interested in putting
together a
kit, contact Marlys Segar. I have the list of what goes in the kit and
the
directions for assembly. Global Health's website is www.ehm.org

Sermons
Ala Carte - Presbyterian Church
On March 4th we will help
provide food and volunteers for the meal. Pastor Steen will be leading
the
service. If you are providing bars or a salad, drop them off at the
Presbyterian Church after 7:30 a.m. Waitresses and usher are to be
there at 11:30.

Lakeside Camp Quilt Auction
The auction will
be April 18th in Sioux City. If you have a quilt
you would like to
donate, please contact Darlene Gustafson.
February
Gathering
At our February Gathering we saw the
video "Created in the Image of God: A Community of Women" The video
showcased Women of the ELCA groups across the country living out the
mission of
our organization and participating in our activities and ministries. If
you
were unable to attend the meeting and would like to view the video,
contact
Marlys Segar. Thank you to Group 1 for presenting the program and to
Group 2
for serving us delicious dessert.
