Supper is followed by 15 - 30 minutes of devotions and songs led by one
of our members. After that we have had a vast array of different
activities.

youngsters.
Currently we have about four families with children, half a dozen or
more
couples, and several singles attending,
We all make up the LOL Family, and it is a very warm, friendly, and
supportive group! Try to fit one Wednesday evening in your schedule soon!

October Events |
Yard Sale is Coming to a Church Near You Soon!!
The Social Concerns Ministry Committee is sponsoring a YARD SALE on
October 5, so start gathering your valuables, your not-so-valuables and your
downright unvaluables to donate. Remember, there’s always someone, somewhere
who wants -- nay, needs -- what you no longer have use for (if you ever did!).
Volunteers to assist with the sale will be greatly appreciated.
And, taken from a church bulletin blooper reminding another congregation
about a similar upcoming event: To the ladies, don't forget this yard
sale. It's a chance to get rid of those things not worth keeping around the
house. Don't forget your husbands. [internet]

September Events |
Raleigh Rescue Mission
For September, we are once again asking you to open your hearts to
provide much needed items for the Raleigh Rescue Mission. Last year’s we
collected a double car load of “stuff” and the folks at the Mission were
thrilled! Watch the Social Concerns Ministry table and easel in the narthex
for details of what the Mission needs -- and be generous!
And, as always, if you want to make donations and just don’t have time
to shop, the committee members will be your “personal shoppers”. Just let us
know: Connie Fortmeyer, Paula Pickler, Gail Slade, Jeannie Stang.

July Events |
Christmas in July
Want to play Santa early again this year? Our focus for July is on
equipping some children with supplies to start back to school. Without our
help, these youngsters won't have what their classmates have -- and we all
know that isn't a pleasant way to start a new year.
Mary Cook has once again taken the time to locate two families for us
to
help. We know both families: one family we helped last July and the other
family is the one we assisted this past Christmas. The kids' folks are
hardworking but just don't have enough to get some needed items.
The little Christmas tree in the narthex is decorated with "ornaments"
with school needs on them. Take one, or several, and leave your gifts
(unwrapped) on or under the table.
Let's all make sure that no child has to do without. Let's make sure
that these children realize that they are special, they are loved and that
they do matter. | |
