Tjernagels Return to U.S.
Previously serving as missionaries in Spain, Tim and Paula Tjernagel and family are currently on furlough in the United States. They are on assignment in Atlanta, GA until May 15, 2007. From May 20 through August 20, 2007 they will be at home again in Roland, Iowa.
From Tim and Paula TjernagelWe are thankful to God that he continues to raise up leaders at El Puente. Right now we’ve got about 5 guys who are showing all sorts of growth and desire to take on spiritual responsibility in the church. Thank God for Fernando, Steve, Josue, Miron, Marcelino, and David.
Thank God for the opportunities that God gives us to share his word in strange places. Well, it’s not really strange, but through one of the parents I met at our kid’s school, Paula and I have an open door to give presentations in English to all the Spanish English teachers (Does that make sense? It’s Spaniards who teach English in the public schools here!) Tomorrow Paula does her cooking class to two groups and at the end of the month I give a talk on “teaching creatively” to another group. Thank God for giving us these opportunities to share his light with these groups.
Thank God that we have a Spaniard who will be living with us in the US for 5 months to continue to teach our kids in Spanish. His name is Oscar and he’s not a Christian—yet!! The kids and us are already praying for his salvation. Who knows, it may be the testimony of people like you that will lead him to a saving faith!! Please give thanks to God for this answer to pray for us!!! And give thanks to God for what he’s going to do in Oscar while he’s in the US!
Thank God that we feel we can leave the church with a sense of optimism and hope!! God continues to do neat things in our midst. There is a sweet spirit of communion in the church and sense of mission to reach our friends and neighbors and the world with the gospel.
