Have you Found your Niche?

If not, purchase one in our columbarium! The pre-construction price for a niche is $500.00. After the columbarium is built, niches will sell for $750.00, so buy now and save $250.00.

There is an agreement to be signed at the time of purchase, so contact the church office, Pastor Russell or the council president, Richard Cranford, if you'd like to buy a niche.

If you have any questions about the project, please contact Reba Pittman or Becky Sharpe.

COLUMBARIUM INFORMATION

Description and Purpose
A columbarium is a structure made of numerous compartments to hold cremated remains. The compartments are called niches. A person’s cremated remains are placed in an urn or some other container and then sealed inside a niche. There is usually a faceplate on the front of each niche with the person’s name and dates. A columbarium can be placed on a wall or can be freestanding. It can be indoor or outdoor and is usually constructed of brick, marble or granite. With the high costs of funerals and burial in a cemetery, columbariums are a very cost effective alternative for church members. There are also people who do not want to be placed in the ground.

Mt. Hebron has decided to construct a columbarium to the right as you leave the church by the glass double doors in front of the church offices. It will be a brick courtyard area with the niches against the wall.

Payment for Structure
The cost of the columbarium will not be paid from a church budget. Church members will raise the money for the project in a variety of ways such as:

  • Pre-sale of niches

  • Donations

  • Fundraisers with supplemental funds from Thrivent when possible

  • Sale of memorial pavers in columbarium courtyard (For church members to commemorate loved ones who have died.)
