Anthony Steinbronn was born on August 3, 1955, in Waterloo, Iowa, the son of Rev. Reuben and Anna (Bast) Steinbronn. He is the oldest of five children: Anthony, Kevin, Rebecca, Jennie, and Reuben. His maternal and paternal grandparents were German immigrants who settled in the farmlands around Readlyn, Iowa.On August 8, 1981, Anthony and Carol (Brauer) were married at Mt. Zion Lutheran Church in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Since their wedding, they have been blessed with four children: Leah Ruth, Joseph Reuben, Joshua Mark and Jonathan David. Rev. Steinbronn has served parishes in Nebraska, Indiana, and South Dakota (1982-1994; 2000-2003). From 1994-2000, he served as a field missionary and theological educator in Botswana and South Africa, with the Lutheran Church in Southern Africa. Rev. Steinbronn graduated from Mankato High School (Minnesota) in 1973. He received his B.A. degree in Liberal Arts from Concordia College, St. Paul (1977); the Master of Divinity degree from Concordia Seminary, St. Louis (1982); the Master of Sacred Theology degree in Luther Studies from Concordia Theological Seminary, Ft. Wayne (1991); and the Doctor of Missiology degree in Mission Communication and Evangelism from Concordia Theological Seminary, Ft. Wayne (1997). | |
