| | | | The Church Year | | The church calendar follows the life of Jesus through the year. ADVENT begins four Sundays before Christmas, preparing for Christ in Christmas, in our lives, and at the end of time. CHRISTMAS is 12 days celebrating the birth of Jesus. EPIPHANY begins on January 6, celebrating the ways God is made known to us in Christ.LENT is the 40 days (not counting Sundays) before Easter, beginning with Ash Wednesday. It is a time to renew our commitment to Christ and to meditate on the ministry and suffering of Jesus. THE THREE DAYS are Maundy Thursday, Good Friday, & Easter Eve. EASTER is 50 days (including Sundays) beginning with Easter Sunday, celebrating the resurrection of Jesus, God's victory over sin, death, and the power of evil. PENTECOST begins 50 days after Easter Day and continues until Advent, celebrating the gift of the Holy Spirit to the Church and our growth in faith. | |

Catechist Atrium |

|
The Catechesis of the Good Shepherd is an approach to the religious formation of children. It is rooted in the Bible, the liturgy of the church, and the educational principles of Maria Montessori. Children gather in an "atrium," a room prepared for them, which contains simple yet beautiful materials that they use. | |
