WHEN DID GRACE CHRISTIAN SCHOOL BEGIN?
Grace Christian School was started with a Preschool and Kindergarten in 1969, by Grace Lutheran Church in Appleton, WI. By 1978 it had expanded to 6th grade. For over three decades Grace Christian School has been a school with academic excellence and a Christian emphasis. We have carried out our calling from our Lord Jesus Christ by living out our mission to:
-Provide affordable high quality 4-Year-Kindergarten through elementary education.
- Create a caring community through active partnership of students, parents and staff.
- Encourage each individual to grow in their faith.
- Build responsibility in a Christ-centered environment
- Nurture each child's God-given gifts.
Over the years, Grace Christian School has helped hundreds of children establish a solid foundation for their future lives. The addition of four different options for kindergarten, including full-day, and the move to Greenville have been positive in continuing this mission.

WHAT DOES GRACE CHRISTIAN OFFER THAT SETS IT APART?
Christian values are taught throughout the curriculum. Students are involved in weekly worship and daily devotions and prayers. Classes lead dynamic all school chapels monthly. Classes conduct regular service projects. Christian character development is emphasized. Students are guided to reach their potential spiritually as well as academically.

HOW ARE YOUR ACADEMICS?
Grace's academics are taught with textbooks that are superior standard texts used in many public and private schools. These are supplemented with Christian materials in many areas. Our curriculum includes: communicative arts, science, social studies, math, health, Spanish starting in Kindergarten, music, physical education, computer lab time, and a Bible story based/ nondenominational religion curriculum. Grace students have shown impressive academic achievement. Typically our students are well above the national average in the Stanford Achievement standardized tests.

ARE YOUR TEACHERS CERTIFIED?
All of our full-time teachers are fully certified and licensed as elementary educators by the State of Wisconsin's Department of Education.

HOW ARE YOUR CLASS SIZES?
Our small class sizes enable teachers to maximize learning to meet each student's needs, and take time to be sensitive to each student's developmental level. Personal attention ensures that each student feels an important class member. Emphasis is placed on building responsibility and good study habits in an atmosphere of respect and love. Our dedicated teachers put in effort above and beyond to ensure student's success.

IS THERE TRANSPORTATION PROVIDED TO THE SCHOOL?
Several school districts including Appleton, Hortonville and Greenville, do provide bus transportation to the school. Please contact us to see which districts participate.

DO I HAVE TO ATTEND SHEPHERD OF THE HILLS LUTHERAN CHURCH?
We are a Christian school, so you may attend any church of your choosing, and still attend Grace Christian School.

WHAT IS THE FAMILY INVOLVEMENT?
Parents are a vital part of education. Regular classroom newsletters keep parents apprized of the learning taking place. A weekly school newsletter highlights school wide happenings. Parents are welcomed and encouraged to visit classrooms. There are opportunities for parents to volunteer. With our smaller size, students and parents know each other, fostering a family feeling.

WHAT ABOUT YOUR FACILITIES?
Grace Christian School is housed in Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church. We have newly built, spacious, air-conditioned classrooms. We have a computer lab and a full regulation sized gym. The beautiful grounds include a walking trail for nature study.
