Attached please find Beckler photo I wrote about. Fred Beckler is seated to the right in the front. Directly behind him is my wife's grandfather Robert Liermann. All the men were trustees and officers of the Lutheran High School and Business College in Deshler, NE, in 1912-13. Picture shows (back row, left to right) Robert Liermann, A.B. Ude, Clamor Lange and H.J. Struve;
(front row, left to right) Fred Beckler, Rudolph Koch and Pator William
Cholcher. The photo idents came from a 1912 Deshler newspaper which was found inside the school cornerstone when it was opened in 1981 when the now-public school was torn down. I have another photo of about the same group that was taken a year later. Both are 8 X 10s.

Bob Beckler (left) talks to his old friend Mark about the good times they had during previous family reunions. Mark's sister, Sara is in the center of the photo. She just saw another deer in the woods. Both are children of Vic and Gret Beckler. Bob still hold the title of the tallest Beckler family member. I overheard Mark say to Bob, "Let's not let so much time pass before we see each other again." That's a good comment for us all to say. | |

Bern Ailts was delegated the responsibility of roasting the pig. Supervisor Rick Beckler checks on the progress and asks to be first in line when the task was completed. That was some good pig. |

Brother Eugene and Lois Beckler at Reunion 2000. | | Brother Eugene and Lois Beckler live in Hemet, California. Their first son, Reed Allen Beckler, is the first grandchild of E&F Beckler, three years older than Gene's youngest brother Alfred. They also have a beautiful daughter by the name of Colette. Colette is moving to San Diego, CA. Gene and Lois have four grandchildren. |

Gordon Beckler lives in Appleton, WI and works for Aid Association for Lutherans. He has two sons, Robert (Bob)and Richard (Rick) who live in Kansas. They each have a daughter and a son. Gordon is currently the Beckler Family site administrator and is actively looking for another. |

Beckler Airline crashes at reunion... |

One of Gene's hobbies is to fly airplanes, both large and small. If he had to crack up one, we are all glad it was his model plane. The pressure was too great for Gene to endure, all those grandchildren wanting to see it fly. How he made it above the trees on the first attempt was impressive, but I can still remember the thud sound of the second flight hitting that tree right in the middle of Gene's flight plan. Around Gene are a bunch of willing helpers. Vic was heard to say, "Can we set it on fire the next time?" |
