Today, Al and Judy's New Year's letter arrived at the homes of relatives and friends. Today is December 31st in the year of our Lord, 2010. Today was also the last day of Al's life here on earth. He is now in the loving arms of his Savior. Blessed be the name of our Lord. (excerpts from the New Year's letter) "Behold I make all things new." Rv. 21:5b. As the year ends, it is always with a mixture of emotions - mostly happy - some sad. The love of our friends and family and God's mercy and grace keeps us steadfast and strong. We spent the year with our families and our 4 grandchildren enjoying their basketball, band concerts, choirs and dance recitals. We were all together Sunday for eats and gift exchange. We missed Al being with us as he has been in the hospital for a couple weeks with a variety of medical problems (lungs, heart and kidneys). The hospital staff is giving him excellent care to make him as comfortable as possible. "Al's wishes were to have a gravesite Celebration of Life service in Grand Island, Nebraska, with a reception/lunch at Trinity Lutheran Church afterwards, on May 27 at 11 am. And, a reunion will be in G.I. planned by Scott and family May 27-29. What a wonderful opportunity to celebrate his life and his faith in Jesus, his Savior. I was just thinking. You know, today Al can see again." From Gordon, number ten of eleven. |

MY THREE SONS |
From left to right, from oldest to youngest...Kevin, Scott and Rusty.
|
My Three Sons, a big success story. Before the age of colored television, Al and Judy created their own version of my three sons with their own three boys. Al and Judy, when the boys came of age, of course, told them to go forth and make grandparents of them. Thus far, Scott was the only one who listened. |

Thank you Dawn for loving Scott and joining the Beckler Family, in spite of the Beckler tradition of stealing the brides at all weddings. I can tell how confident you were by the expression on your face. What you didn't realize was Bern Ailts presence. His job was to pick you up if I dropped you... |
