It has pleased Almighty God to take unto Himself the soul of Doris (Ailts) Beckler, wife of Howard Beckler and mother to two daughters, Tammy Bentz and Holly Bloomer. She passed away peacefully at her home on the morning of August 4th after a three month struggle with cancer. Committal Services were held on Friday morning, August 8, 2003 at the Dallas - Fort Worth National Cemetery. A memorial service was conducted at Faith Lutheran Church in Plano, Texas on Saturday afternoon, August 9th.
Her pastor spoke kindly of the Ailts family upbringing in South Dakota and of her family's commitment to Christ and His ministry. Doris attended two Lutheran colleges in Minnesota and Nebraska on her way to qualify as a parochial school teacher for LCMS schools.
"The Ailts family must have thought highly of the Beckler family because three of them found their spouses there", quipped the Pastor during his sermon.
On December 8, 2009, Howard Edwin Beckler fell asleep in Jesus, with whom he waits for the resurrection of all belivers. Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of His saints.
Howard was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, and his loving wife Doris of over fifty years.
He married Doris Ellen Ailts on October 11, 1952. Throughout his life he was a kind, quiet, gracious and humble friend, husband and father, and grandfather. He had a strong faith and was actively involved in his church community in a variety of leadership positions. He felt strongly all children should have the opportunity to have a Christ centered schooling experience and was a strong supporter of the Faith Lutheran School. He provided the same for his own two daughters.

Howard was born on January 14, 1927 in Moberly, Missouri to Frieda and Edwin Beckler, one of 10 children. He was reborn as a child of God in the waters of Holy Baptism on January 20, 1927 at Zion Lutheran Church in Moberly, Missouri, at the hand of his father Reverend Edwin Beckler. He confessed his baptismal faith in the rite of Confirmation on May 12, 1940. again at the hand of his father. at Zion Lutheran Church in Shelton, Nebraska. He received the precious gift of the Lord's life-giving body and blood. His confirmation verse was Colossians 3:17, "Whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him."
