Eugene and Lois Beckler at Family Reunion 2000. |

It has pleased Almighty God to call to heaven the soul of Eugene Raymond Beckler, spouse of Lois Beckler residing in Hemet, California. He entered Eternal Life on June 16, 2006 after a short hospital stay, during which time he lost his leg and spent countless hours in dialysis. Gene is survived by his wife Lois, two children, Reed and Colette, in addition to grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Graveside Services were conducted by Gene and Lois's former pastor at the Riverside National Cemetery on June 23rd with Military Honors. Friends and Family were sent the Bible verses used for the Memorial Service and asked to meditate on them during the time of the ceremony no matter where they lived across the country. The following verse was published on a Memorial Card handed out at the ceremony. SAFELY HOME: I am home in Heaven, dear ones; Oh, so happy, and so bright! There is perfect joy and beauty in this everlasting light. All the pain and grief is over, every restless tossing passes; I am now at peace forever, safely home in Heaven at last. Did you wonder I so calmly trod the valley of the shade? Oh, but Jesus' love illumined every dark and fearful glade. And He came himself to meet me in that way so hard to tread; And with Jesus' arm to lean on, could I have one doubt or dread? Then you must not grieve so sorely, for I love you dearly still: Try to look beyond earth's shadows, pray to trust our Father's will. There is work still waiting for you, so you must not idly stand; Do it now while life remaineth - you shall rest in Jesus' land. When that work is all completed, He will gently call you home; Oh, the rapture of that meeting! Oh, the joy to see you come! Gene, as known by family and friends was born on July 14th, 1924 in Deshler, Nebraska. Blessed are they who die in the Lord.

The Eugene and Lois Beckler Family |

Gene, Lois, Reed and Colette at Tobias, Nebraska. Reed, as you can see by the photo is down right proud to be the oldest grandson. Either that, or he wanted to make sure his flat top was really straight with the world. Unfortunately, Gene's CREW cut bail out on him already at this young age, making Gene one of the most extinquished looking Beckler boys. Now that Kruse boy wasn't supposed to be in the picture, but he snuck in anyway. By the way, do you know his name?

Reed Beckler is the son of Eugene and Lois Beckler. Reed lives in the Minneapolis area and provided a video tape of the gathering for all who attended. If you have not received a copy, you might want to leave him a message.Reed has two children, Reed Beckler the second and Kathy the first. Hopefully we'll add more information about these individuals as we develop the site. Both of them are college age, somewhat sorta, approximately.

"Leesie",(Sorry about the spelling) Colette's daughter standing proudly with grandpa Gene. She is very active in cheerleading and dance competition. Franke is Colette's son and I'm not sure if he's in college or working. Now, if I've got my story straight, Colette's moving to San Diego. (Another relative to stay with in California when it's cold in the midwest.) |
