Stewardship Thought:
1 Corinthians 9:16-27: St. Paul had the beautiful gift of showing such concern for others that he would refrain from doing what he was perfectly free to do so that the Gospel of Jesus would be better received by those to whom he was witnessing. One of the beautiful aspects of Christian stewardship is seeking and doing those things that are in the best interest and welfare of those around us!

Bethesda Workers will be at Wausau on Wednesday. If you can and are willing tohelp, please contact Toodie Bonk.

Pastor will be out of the office on Tuesday to attend the Circuit Pastors Meeting.

Senior Citizen and New Member Brunch
The Board of Christian Growth and Outreach will be coordinating a potluck brunch on February 12th for our senior citizens (those 65 and over) and the new members to the congregation from the past two years. The Senior Citizens and new members are NOT to bring a dish for the potluck. Hope to see you there! If you have any questions, call Marilyn Borgeson or Joan Mueller.

This year our congregation’s extra mission will have a local emphasis. One effort will be to assist the Hands Foundation in getting winter assistance to homeless veterans. We are asking that members of the congregation (as they are able and willing) to donate insulated boots, stockings hats, scarves, gloves, sleeping bags, warm socks or any other winter items. There will be a box at the church on February 5th and 12th to receive the items. We will also donate any monies that come in the “Missions” portion of the envelopes during January and February to this project.

Council Agenda Items are due in to the church office by noon Monday. Reminder to all council members – we’ll meet on Wednesday at 8:00pm.

According to some sources, the woman made a mean shawarma.
As soon as they left the synagogue, they entered the house of Simon and Andrew, with James and John. Now Simon’s mother-in-law was in bed with a fever, and they told him about her at once. He came and took her by the hand and lifted her up. Then the fever left her, and she began to serve them.
That evening, at sundown, they brought to him all who were sick or possessed with demons. And the whole city was gathered around the door. And he cured many who were sick with various diseases, and cast out many demons; and he would not permit the demons to speak, because they knew him. In the morning, while it was still very dark, he got up and went out to a deserted place, and there he prayed. And Simon and his companions hunted for him. When they found him, they said to him, “Everyone is searching for you.” He answered, “Let us go on to the neighboring towns, so that I may proclaim the message there also; for that is what I came out to do.” And he went throughout Galilee, proclaiming the message in their synagogues and casting out demons.
