Quilts and Lap Robes
The Tuesday morning quilting group has put away their scissors and needles for the summer. They wish to thank all those who donated materials of one type or another this past year.
The fruits of their labor include many large quilts as well as small lap robes. A large box of quilts has been sent to Lutheran World Relief Headquarters in Maryland. Records, dating back to November 1995, show 225 quilts have been made. Lap robes (36 inch square) have proven to be a very popular item this year. Recently some have been given to the Lutheran Haven in Oviedo, FL, the LRMC North nursing facility, the Boggy Creek Camp for handicapped and terminally ill children and a special one to a member, Don Imm, who is in Avante Nursing Center.
