He is Risen! He is Risen Indeed! We have just celebrated the resurrection of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Easter, a day celebrated by many in the secular world with Easter eggs and chocolate bunnies, but to Christians everywhere, the day God gave the world His greatest act of love. It was on that day that Jesus
defeated Satan and sin and won eternal salvation for all who believe. How awesome and wonderful a gift we have been given.
We may watch a sporting event and watch our team play a good game and still lose and we say, “Thay gave it their all.” In Luke 21, Jesus saw the rich putting their gifts into the temple treasury, but He also saw the poor widow put her two small coins and He said, “She gave all she had.”
When God gave us His gift of love, He really did “give His all.” The bible says, God so loved the World that He gave His one and only Son. Just imagine any one of us willingly sacrificing any of our children, let alone if it was the only child we had. God gave this gift to you and me willingly, with no strings attached; all we have to do is to accept it. He gave us this gift
because He loves you and me.
God’s gift is unique. No one else can ever compare with Jesus. No baby has ever been born to a virgin before or after Jesus’ birth. No man has ever lived a sinless life or has died and come back from the dead on his own.
God “gave His all” for us because He loves us and because His gift is
wonderful, freeing us from guilt and sin and giving us life and salvation. We should want to give God a gift in
return to show Him that we love Him. We can do this by willingly serving Him and by
living lives that give Him glory and honor in all we do. The gift we give is not to earn our salvation or to gain God’s favor, but it is a way to say “Thank you God for giving us Your All”
