St. James Lutheran, Cleveland, OH - Groups and Ministries

	WORSHIP AND PRAYER + ST. JAMES SENIOR CHOIR is open to all adult members and friends of the congregation. Rehearsals are held in the choir loft at 9:15 am on Sunday mornings, September through May. + ALTAR GUILD is the group which prepares the altar area for worship, include filling and washing the communion glasses, polishing the brassware, changing the altar cloths and candles. + USHERS are the group of men, women, and children who seat people for worship, take the offering, and guide people for Communion. + THE PRAYER LOUNGE occurs every Sunday after worship. Anyone can bring a prayer request or thanksgiving. The Prayer Lounge is located by the upstairs washrooms. + PRAYER PARTNERS in which members pray for their assigned people on a regular basis. They also take special prayer requests from anyone in the community.
FELLOWSHIP / SERVICE + LUTHERAN WOMEN’S MISSIONARY LEAGUE members meet bi-monthly throughout the year for fellowship and various mission projects such as supporting missionaries. + LADIES AID women meet at 1:00 pm on the first Monday of each month, March through December. They join in fellowship while doing many service projects for the church. . + FRIENDSHIP CIRCLE ladies meet on the first Wednesday of each month at 7:00 pm. In addition to fellowship, the meetings offer cooking demos, craft projects, guest speakers, dinners, and opportunities for Christian service projects. + FELLOWSHIP CLUB consists of members and friends of the congregation of all ages with planned events such as plays, dinners, local attractions, sports events and game nights. The events are planned for the third Saturday of each month. + WIDOW AND WIDOWERS meet at noon on the fourth Tuesday of all months except June and July for a home-cooked luncheon and support group discussion. Everyone is welcome to share their feelings and concerns about this difficult time. + ST. JAMES SENIORS meet on the first and third Wednesday of each month at noon. They have interesting programs scheduled and go on a variety of trips. New members are always welcome. Bring your lunch; coffee and tea are provided!
	EDUCATION + SUNDAY SCHOOL CLASSES meet from 9:15 am to 10:15 am from early September through mid June for children from ages 3 through 8th grade. + ADULT BIBLE CLASS meets at 9:15 every Sunday morning in the Luecke Conference Room for lively discussion and study of the Bible in terms of today’s life situations. + MEN’S BIBLE BREAKFAST meets on Saturday mornings in the Luecke Conference Room at 8:30 am for study, discussion and doughnuts. + MONDAY NIGHT BIBLE CLASS meets from September to May at 7:00 p.m. in the Luecke Conference Room to discuss a certain book of the Bible and apply it to lives of today. . CONFIRMATION classes in the Lutheran faith are taught to 6th, 7th and 8th grade children weekly on Thursday evenings at 6:30 pm. ADULT MEMBERSHIP classes are held periodically throughout the year.
