Historic St. Paul Lutheran Church
St. Pauls Lutheran Church is the oldest Lutheran Church in the State of Kansas.
The stone church building was dedicated to the service of God in July 1883.
On August 19, 2001 the people of St. Pauls celebrated the 140th Anniversary of the first Lutheran worship service held in the state of Kansas.
Just this year, the 145th Anniversary was celebrated!

St. Paul's members and visitors worship here at 9:00 am Sunday mornings.
All are invited to our traditional worship service in this quaint country church.

Original Worship Site

This log cabin hosted the first Lutheran worship service on August 17, 1861
The log cabin home of C. F. Wetzel served as the site for Missionary F. W. Lange's first sermon in Kansas.
The building is now a historic site.
It was recently re-dedicated at it's new site, off of the corner of K-18 and Spring Valley Road in the Spring Valley Historic Site...operated by the Geary County Historical Society.
The official organization of St. Pauls Congregation dates to the meeting on September 1, 1861. There were 21 charter members.
Stone School Museum
The Stone School building was built in 1884.
Currently the building serves as a museum.
