About Bags |
Emergency Feeding Program has an ongoing insatiable need for large brown grocery bags. Please save these items. You can bring them to Denny Park Lutheran Church and we'll pass them along to EFP. If your groceries were double bagged, please leave the bags together. Using recycled bags saves approximately $10,000 a year that may then be used for food purchase. If you'd like to find another location for dropping off the bags, Emergency Feeding Program Administrative Office is 206-329-0300. |
We also collect food for Emergency Feeding Program.
|
Quilters |
Sometimes the need for quilts during emergency times throughout the world has emptied the warehouses. Our quilters use fabric donations to shelter and comfort in a worldwide effort. If no one needs that old sheet or blanket (old electric ones provide 2 fillers) they can be used for backing, filler, topped with colorful patches and tied with yarn - one more quilt for the world! |
Quilting normally takes place on the third Thursday starting at 10:00 a.m. Bring a sack lunch for the break at noon. If you can tie a knot, we need you. We'll even thread the needle for you.

Reaching the World |
|
Every day in 35 countries, Lutheran World Relief works to combat the causes of poverty and the dignity it robs from people’s lives. We advocate for Fair Trade that helps farming families and artisans earn a better income. We teach people to better care for themselves, their communities and the environment. We teach people how to be less vulnerable to natural disasters. We advocate with and for them for policy change that more fairly represents them. We counsel them after manmade and natural disasters, and help them recover with material aid. We do all of this exclusively with partners from the communities we serve. Our partners help us remain incredibly efficient and effective. Our partners let us help people help themselves…for a day when they won’t need us at all.

Lutheran World Relief Kits |

Items are gathered for kits. Here folks are assembling the school kits. Inside the bag, sewn by volunteers, will be lined paper, scissors, crayons, pencils, eraser, sharpener and a ruler. If you would like to donate, give us a call for the specifics. |
