MLPR-Mision Luterana de Puerto Rico-The legal mission organization of the LCMS-World Mission in Puerto Rico. NLCPR-The National Lutheran Church of Puerto Rico-La Iglesia Luterana Nacional de Puerto Rico. OUR MISSION STATEMENT La Mision Luterana de Puerto Rico (MLPR) will proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ in Puerto Rico, training leaders as part of the process of developing well structured and mission minded Lutheran congregations.

The Mision Luterana de Puerto Rico (MLPR) is currently located in the business area of Mayaguez in a small storefront building with little access to parking and also shares the building with the local Lutheran congregation, Principe de Paz. Missionary, Rev. Angel L. Perez, is dedicated to teaching the Word of God as the only reliable rule of faith and practice. Since arriving in July1997 to the MLPR Rev. Perez has been serving Principe de Paz’s congregation as Pastor and Advisor in addition to his mission work as Church Planter. The MLPR was able to purchase 3.8 acres of land, with the help of The Ohio District- Lutheran Church Extension Fund, on which to build a Lutheran Center and will share part of the land with Principe de Paz Lutheran Church in order for them to build a house of worship. Principe de Paz is already in the works with this project. Pastor Perez and members of the congregation have been in constant communication with the architect who is working with the City of Mayaguez for the final approval of the plans.
