In 1999 the Evangelism Committee at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Fairland,Oklahoma was given permission to develop a program to better serve Lutherans in the area. The committee felt that a real potential for growth was in Grove which had no Lutheran Church.In July 1999 a “Outreach Mission” Church, sponsored by St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Fairland, Oklahoma was started in Grove, Oklahoma. Services were held every other Saturday at 6:00 p.m. at the Ellis Chapel, 107 N. Broadway. St. Paul’s Pastor served the Outreach Mission Church.
In August of 2000 services were changed to every Sunday at 8:30 a.m. by changing the services to Sunday we experienced the growth that was not experienced by holding services Saturday evenings.
In May 2001 a committee was formed known as the Grove Outreach Planning Committee. During the months of September and October of 2001 the Planning Committee discussed options of how best to go forward with plans for a church in Grove. It was decided that a Constitution would be drawn up and submitted to form a Church in Grove.
In November of 2001 Pastor began serving Communion and Grove’ first Confirmation was held on January 20, 2002.
In February 2002 the name of the New Church was decided upon as Immanuel Lutheran Church. Also in February a Sunday School Class was started from 8:00 to 8:25 a.m.
September 15, 2002 Pastor Leo announced that Immanuel's Constitution had been approved.
In November of 2002, Immanuel Lutheran Church elected Officers and the Church was Charted as an LCMS Church.
On November 16th, 2003, Immanuel Celebrated their first year as a Chartered Church - Missouri Synod Member.
